Climate Mobility and Resilience in Secondary Cities of East Africa Workshop

Theme: Strengthening local government responses through multi-stakeholder partnerships

Secondary cities across East Africa are on the frontline of climate-related mobility. Floods, drought, environmental degradation, and rapid urbanisation are reshaping movement patterns and placing pressure on housing, infrastructure, and basic services.

Convened under the MECMEA project in partnership with Cities Alliance, this workshop brings city leaders together to:

  • Exchange practical experiences
  • Strengthen peer learning
  • Ground responses in evidence
  • Elevate city voices in regional policy dialogue

Because solutions to climate mobility in East Africa must be city-driven, evidence-based, and collaborative.

The MECMEA project is supported by the European Union and contracted through International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). The SUIDAC project is also supported by the European Union and contracted through Cities Alliance.
