Safeguarding Human Rights in Migration Management in EU Policy

Bram Frouws, Director of the Mixed Migration Centre, will speak on “The Importance and Challenges Related to Documentation and Accurate Data Collection” during the seminar on Safeguarding Human Rights in Migration Management in EU Policy.

Co-hosted by the Danish Permanent Representation to the EU and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the seminar will bring together CODEV, MOCADEM delegates, and EU institutions to discuss how the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum—adopted in 2024 and entering into force in 2026—can be implemented in a way that upholds human rights and EU values. The discussions will focus on ensuring effective migration management while safeguarding the right to asylum, the principle of non-refoulement, and legal safeguards such as due diligence, risk mitigation, and accountability, with emphasis on border procedures, return operations, and cooperation with third countries.
