Many children are migrating in the hope of accessing new opportunities, improving their lives, or trying to find safety, with or without their parents or caregivers. This paper offers seven key messages on the specific dynamics, needs and vulnerabilities of children and youth travelling on mixed migration routes. It is based on a decade of MMC’s research and 4Mi data collection with refugees and migrants on the move on different mixed migration routes worldwide.
