On 31 October 2023, IOM, together with the United State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) and SIDA, held a virtual partners’ roundtable on the Regional Migrant Response Plan (MRP) for the Horn of Africa and Yemen 2024.
The partners’ roundtable aimed to communicate a comprehensive overview of the projected situation of the target populations in 2024, the planning assumptions, the response priorities, and anticipated gaps while emphasizing the Plan’s positioning as the appropriate vehicle for addressing the complex inter-regional migration issue.
During the meeting, Ayla Bonfiglio, Head of MMC Eastern and Southern Africa | Egypt & Yemen, presented on the protection concerns of Ethiopian migrants in Somalia and the impact of the Sudan conflict on the Horn of Africa.
