Every month, hundreds of men, women and children under take the treacherous journey across East and West Africa towards Libya seeking safety from armed conflict, political oppression and hoping for better a future. The purpose of this briefing paper is to provide an updated snapshot of the protection risks faced by people on the move along these routes between June 2017 and February 2018. The paper looks at the type, scale and geographic distribution of protection risks, focusing on specific abuses and security concerns.
