Shifting protections experiences of displaced Eritreans
Shifting Protection Experiences of Displaced Eritreans examines how Eritreans in displacement have experienced and responded to a decade of shifting migration and asylum policies. Drawing on interviews with Eritrean individuals and key informants across multiple regions, the report explores how people navigate shrinking protection spaces, reduced legal pathways, and the breakdown of traditional support systems.
It builds on our previous report, Where to Next?, which outlined the country-level policy changes affecting Eritrean mobility over the past ten years. Together, these two reports offer a comprehensive picture of how political, security, and policy developments across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe have systematically undermined Eritreans’ access to safety, despite continued large-scale displacement.
