This snapshot offers some insights on the personal, educational and professional background of migrants and refugees in Northern Italy (Piedmont and Liguria regions) as well as the drivers of migration. It also looks into their experiences regarding access to work in Italy with a focus on the differences between youth and older respondents. This snapshot aims to contribute towards a solid evidence base to inform targeted responses on the ground, as well as advocacy efforts related to the situation of refugees and migrants in Italy. The snapshot is based on 104 interviews conducted face-to-face in five different locations in Northern Italy between January and May 2021.

Il presente snapshot offre alcuni spunti di analisi sul background personale, educativo e professionale di migranti e rifugiati in Nord Italia (Piemonte e Liguria) e sulle motivazioni sottostanti la scelta di intraprendere il viaggio verso l’Europa. Ci si soffermerà inoltre sull’accesso al lavoro in Italia guardando alle differenze tra giovani (18-25) ed adulti (sopra i 25). L’obiettivo dell’analisi è quello di fornire dati che possano essere utilizzati tanto nell’ambito di progetti di assistenza quanto per attività di advocacy rivolte a migranti e rifugiati sul territorio italiano. Il presente snapshot si basa su 104 interviste condotte faccia a faccia in cinque diverse località del Nord Italia tra Gennaio e Maggio 2021.
