The Mixed Migration Centre is pleased to invite you to a Research and Evidence Launch and Workshop on Children and Youth on the Move in Eastern Africa taking place from 10am-5pm on November 21, 2023. This event signifies the culmination of the two-year East African Migration Routes (EAMR) project, a collaborative effort between Save the Children International (SCI) and MMC, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, dedicated to evidence-based programming for children and youth on the move.
This event will be a full-day live workshop and shall feature the launch of MMC 4Mi data collected in 2022-23 in Sudan and Ethiopia and research products on children and youth on the move as well as interventions from key child protection and migration actors working in the region.
The event will examine the following topics:
- Protection risks and abuses among children and youth on the move
- Drivers and onward movement intentions of children and youth on the move
- Unique experiences of caregivers and unaccompanied and separated children on the move
- Future trends and research and evidence needs on children and youth on the move in the region.
