Virtual Launch of the Mixed Migration Review 2023

This event has ended. Watch the recording here!

While presenting a wide-ranging global review keeping track of all mixed migration events and policy developments over the year, the Mixed Migration Review 2023 offers a deliberately regional focus, mainly through interviews with critical regional thinkers and practitioners in the sector, essays and snapshots spotlighting regional questions and in-depth and personal migrant stories.

Join us on 29 November (14:00-15:30 CET) for the virtual launch of the report, where we will have a panel discussion on challenging Western-centric perspectives on mixed migration – a conversation between continents.

Is there an issue of Western-centric approaches to migration policy development and, broadly speaking, migration management globally? If so, how does it manifest itself and what are the consequences on migration policies and their impact?  Are there alternative approaches and how can models and lessons learned from the Global South help shape such alternatives? This discussion will offer regional perspectives, with speakers from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Speakers include:

– Sana Mustafa, Chief Executive Officer of Asylum Access

– Gaia Vince, Journalist, Author and Broadcaster

– Eromo Egbejule, Africa Editor of Al Jazeera

– Guerline Jozef, Founder and Executive Director of Haitian Bridge Alliance

We will end with a Q&A with the audience. We look forward to seeing you on the 29th! Use #MMR2023 to join the conversation on X/Twitter and LinkedIn
