Decision-making and its consequences for families separated by mixed migration
Qualitative study on the different influences on decision-making within families across the Middle East, specifically how gender, cultural and socio-economic factors play a role in the decision to move or stay.
The decision to move from the Middle East to Europe is made for a variety of reasons, and not only by those who make the journey. A significant body of research has been gathered on refugees and other migrants arriving in Europe in recent years, but comparatively little is known about how decisions to move or stay are made within families, nor about how family members moving affects those left behind.Download
