Understanding changes in mixed movement experiences, decision-making and aspirations over time in Kenya

MMC, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), carried out a 4mi longitudinal survey in Nairobi and in Garissa town with an estimated growing population of over 700,000 people, the commercial hub of Garissa county which hosts the Dadaab refugee camp and is a major destination and transit point for Somali refugees.

This snapshot examines how the movement experiences, decisions and aspirations of refugees and migrants in Kenya develop over a period of 6-8 months. It complements a first snapshot on drivers, journeys and intentions of refugees and migrants in Kenya.
